November Open Enrollment – Flexible Spending Plan
Enrollment for 2024 Calendar Year:
HealthEquity will continue to administer Dutchess BOCES’ Medical and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts for the 2024 calendar year. Learn about Flexible Spending at the following link:

The Flexible Spending Plan consists of two options:
Flexible Spending Plan for Dependent Day Care and Flexible Spending Plan for eligible unreimbursed medical and dental expenses. It is important to remember that you will need to complete an Enrollment Form each November to take advantage of this benefit for the following year. There will be 20 payroll deductions during the plan year; deductions will not be made during the months of July and August.
- Unreimbursed Medical $3,050 Max/year
- Dependent Care $5000 Max/year
You may wish to consult your accountant regarding tax considerations before completing the Flexible Spending Plan Enrollment Form.

October Open Enrollment – Sick Bank
During October of each school each year, all full-time and part-time unit members electing to participate in the SSA Sick Leave Bank shall have thirty-one (31) days to enroll. For more information go to: https://dcboces.org/hr/sick-bank
May Open Enrollment – Health Insurance
May is open enrollment for health insurance with BOCES.
- All applications must reach the Benefits Office at the Administration Building on or before May 31, 2023. Changes will take effect July 1, 2023. https://www.dcboces.org/business/health
- If you wish to keep your current coverage, you do not need to do anything. Your existing health insurance will automatically roll over into the new school year with only a rate adjustment.
- If you intend to take the buyout, you must renew your application by May 31, 2023.

Dental Insurance COBRA Price Increase
As of March 1st, 2023 the price of dental coverage has increased for COBRA members.
New Monthly Rate:
Individual: $32.94
Family: $93.44
February Open Enrollment – Dental Insurance
February is Open Enrollment month for the SSA Guardian Dental Plan.
You can sign up for Guardian or make a change to your plan during the month of February.

Enrollment for 2023 Calendar Year:
The following special insurance is available to BOCES employees through AFLAC. November is the open enrollment period for the 2023 calendar year.
- The AFLAC Short Term Disability plan
- The AFLAC Critical Illness Plan
- The AFLAC Dental Plan
- The AFLAC Accident Plan
- The AFLAC Hospitalization Plan
Note: These policies roll over each November and need not be renewed on a yearly basis.
AFLAC Enrollment & appointments with representatives will be done virtually. Details will be sent to you via email.

COVID test kits available

Anyone who wishes to pick up a COVID test kit from the Administration Building can do so. We have a good number of test kits available and will happily provide them on a first come first serve basis.
